SciTE

The absence of SciTE on the Mac was the reason why I bought a VM and is still the main reason for me to start my VM, so I didn't hesitate one second before buying the app. As a professional developper, it is the editor I chose for my day to day for more than 8 years You don't know SciTE but you most likely know Notepad++. SciTE is the original, less fancy, with no plugin, little dialogs (configuration all goes through editing a few files) but with as much features. I hold it between Notepad++ and vi : graphically rich, with a lot of key shortcut that are very efficient once mastered. It becomes even more powerfull when you rely on its simple macro system. Si j'ai acheté une machine virtuelle c'est avant tout pour pouvoir utiliser SciTE sur Mac, et ça reste la reason principale pour laquelle j'utilise ma VM. J'utilise cet éditeur depuis plus de 8 ans sur Windows ou Linux, au travail et à la maison, donc je n'ai eu aucune hésitation à l'acheter. Si vous ne connaissez pas, SciTe est l'ancetre de Notepad++, sans les plugins, les fenetres de configuration, moins joli mais tout aussi efficace sinon plus. Tout ce passe par quelques fichiers de configuration à éditer manuellement: comportement, macros, options graphiques. Pour moi, il se situe à mi chemin entre NotePad++ et vi : une très bonne assistance visuelle pour lire le code, avec un jeu puissant de raccourcis clavier pour optmiser l'édition et la possibilité d'ajouter simplement des macros
